SIGGRAPH Thesis Fast Forward 2027

SIGGRAPH Thesis Fast Forward

SIGGRAPH Thesis Fast Forward 2027

The program

The SIGGRAPH Thesis Fast Forward is a unique forum for Ph.D. students in computer graphics to present their research. Submitters should prepare a 3-minute video that summarizes their Ph.D. topic and results. The submitted videos will be assembled and published online (see last year’s edition here). It is not required to attend SIGGRAPH or SIGGRAPH Asia to participate.

We are planning to organise a physical event at SIGGRAPH 2027, during which the submitters who can attend the conference will have a chance to present their fast forward in person.

Who can submit?

Any computer graphics student who expects to graduate in the next year or graduated less than a year ago. Students should have at least one publication in a graphics-related venue (ACM SIGGRAPH, Eurographics and their affiliations).

Why submit?

The SIGGRAPH thesis fast forward is a unique platform to advertise your work.
It is also an important exercise of scientific communication and the opportunity to discuss your presentation, work and future directions with established senior researchers (see the list of last year’s reviewers).

Submission process

Please upload a link to your 3-minute video by October 15th, 2026, 11:59pm AoE. Please make sure that you own the copyright to- or have permission to use all the content in your submission.

Video requirements and tips

  • Technical requirements: at most 3 minutes, 1920×1080 resolution, frame rate 30fps
  • You must own the copyright to- or have permission to use all the content in your submission. You will need to submit documentation for this before publication, so keep track of any licenses or permission you acquire and select visuals accordingly.
  • Watch previous years’ presentations for inspiration
  • Use visuals to convey your story. Many presenters use slideshow software, but don’t make a list of bullet-points. Instead, use the medium of video to your advantage, e.g., include visuals, animation, video.
  • Keep your audience in mind. The Thesis FF is shared with the wider graphics community (ACM SIGGRAPH). How can you get them interested in your research?
  • Be personal. You can include a video of yourself in the corner or as an overlay. Narrate the video yourself. You can use AI-tools for cleanup, such as Adobe Podcast, but keep yourself involved to connect with the audience.

Review process

Senior researchers will review the submitted videos and provide feedback. Submitters and reviewers are free to perform several iterations on the video before submitting the final version.
